Is my basil plant dead?

I am new to gardening and I think I let my basil plant get dehydrated, and then watered incorrectly. Now, all the leaves wilted and the stems started turning brown and woody. I pinched off the dehydrated leaves and moved it from a glazed pot to a clay pot. The stems are sticking up about 12 inches from the top of the soil, but they don’t have any leaves. Is my plant a goner or is there anything I can do? Should I cut the stems down more? Also, should I feed or fertilize? Does it want a lot of sunlight? Thank you!

Why won’t my tomato plants bear fruits?

I am new at growing tomatos. I have two cherry tomato plants in newly potted 12″ containers - not ideal, I know but I live in a condo and have only a small balcony. I water them everyday and keep the soil moist but not dripping wet. My balcony is facing west so they get about 4 hours of sun each day. They are flowering like crazy. But for over a hundred of flowers I only saw three tomatos. Most flowers just die out without bearing fruit. Why is that happening. Thank you for your help.

Do I HAVE to repot a houseplant?

I have a number of houseplants that if possible, I’d like to keep in their current pots. Some of them are losing their soil so I was just planning on adding in more soil and trimming down the roots. I really don’t want large houseplants and don’t want to keep buying larger and larger pots if at all possible. I don’t have the room for large plants nor do I want them. Can houseplants remain in the same pot forever? Can you simply just maintain them in the same pot year after year? If yes, what’s the best way to go about that? Do I need to fertilize everytime I add new soil? thanks.

Can you help me with transplanting?

Last week I bought two nice house plants (one a corn plant and the other a dragon tree). They came in their default 10-12 inch black plastic pots, but I just bought some nicer pots that are much bigger (not sure the size). I want to transfer them into the nice pots, but I don’t know what I’m doing, and I don’t want to hurt any of the plants. The corn plant actually has 2 seperate big brown stems, would I try to take them both out at once? one at a time? do I just try to take them out of the pots with all the dirt still intact? that would be pretty difficult. Do I use your everyday soil? special soil? how deep? I’m so lost. Please help me, if there’s any more info you need to help, I’ll tell you.

How often do you water a cactus?

It’s an small indoor cactus, about four inches from the soil with a flower on it in a small pot. I got it as a gift, so I don’t have any sand in the soil…

Growing peppers in pots in florida?

I am trying to grow peppers in pots on my porch. They are not doing well at all. They are about the size of cherry tomatoes and then they turn red so I know that is the biggest they will get. Is it too hot, too wet, the soil, the sun? I have tried growing them in the garden and they died from nemotoids. I did buy new soil for the pots but they still had some of the old soil with it. Help!
