Bugs killing Canna Plant?

Okay, so we have two Canna plants in our kitchen and they have been doing really well all winter but all of a sudden the leaves are starting to turn brown and die… Today i was cleaning the leaves and when i wipped the paper towel under them the whole bottom on the leaf is covered in these little black bugs, smaller then a tick … I have no idea where they came from or how to kill them before they totally kill my plants… We have our bird cage next to the plants and we used soil from outside, not potting soil… I dont know if they could contribute to the situation!

Why are the flower buds on my Hibiscus falling off before they bloom?

I bought a Hibiscus plant last year and this happened constantly. The new buds would form but before they would open (flower) the buds would fall off the stem. It was in a clay pot and even when I would get flowers they would fall off very quickly. I ended up transferring the plant to the ground and am waiting to see what happens. So far, so good, and I have one bloom about to open.

This year I bought 2 new Hibiscus plants and the same thing is happening. The buds just fall off the end of the stem before I see a flower. When I bought the plants they had at least 1 to 2 open flowers on each plant.

They are planted in large clay pots w/ potting soil, get watered every 2-3 days, get full sun in morning and part of the afternoon and get fertilizer as required.

Are the pots too small, not enough soil? (I have put them in larger pots and than they came in when purchased), Wrong fertilizer? (It says for flowering plants like Hibiscus), Too much/not enough water? Wrong type of soil?

My plants in baskets won’t grow even though I water them everyday?

My planters are all wire baskets which are lined with peet. The weather has been very hot but I water, at night, throoughly, almost every night. There are ten baskets and each one has growth with it’s own degree of success but one, after two months, hasn’t grown, generally, more than an inch and a half. I have planted wild flowers, zinnias and marigolds. I would say that the site is about ten feet long with direct sun for several hours a day, and from only one side, though that side shifts with the sun. One end is sunnier than the other but is not noticably more growing than the other end. I planted then with potting soil that was supposed to have 7 months of fertilizer. I think a lot has left with the draining water everyday but I don’t know. Can you offer advice and can you tell me what I might be able to plant this time of the year in order to recoup the loss of my growth? I live in central Indiana. Thank You

How do I grow pinto beans from bean to plant?

Alright, so I bought a bag of pinto beans last week and, since I was planting tomatoes and other things, decided to soak a paper towel with water, stick some pinto beans in it, fold it up and throw it in a plastic bag to see what would grow. Right now, I have lots of beans that are sprouting. I’d kind of like to add these to my garden, given they are growing, and want to transplant them into small pots beforehand. I’ve never planted beans though, so I don’t even know which end to stick down in a pot… the bean or the sprout. Is the sprouting part the root or the start of a plant? Specifically, do I stick it bean-side down in the potting soil or sprout-side down in the potting soil?
