Did I over water my Phalaenopsis Orchid?

I purchased a white Phalaenopsis Orchid about a month ago. When I got it, it had 5 healthy big green leaves and 4 blossom flowers and two buds. I put it by a window facing south with moderate indirect light. The flowers were doing well and the buds were blooming. A week after I brought it home, I watered it throughly and gave orchid food. oh, the orchid is planted in moss from store. I was told not to re-pot it while the orchid is in bloom. I first noticed 1 big leaf turned slightly yellow close to the base of the leaf by the root. Then a couple of days later, it fell off. Then the 2nd week, I watered the orchid again without the food. Then I started to notice the flowers were dying one at a time. The leaves are all turning yellow by the base and falling off one at a time. Right now, the center where the leaves used to be turned brownish and yucky looking. The flower stem still looks healthy and most of the root still looks green, but all the flowers fell off. Is my Orchid dying?

I’m might get into some trouble over a plant, what do I do?

Okay so I’ve been growing this plant and growing this type of plant does not go well with my family. My mother found the two potted plants recently and they are in their sprouting stages right now, so she still can’t tell what type of plant it is. I’ve told her it’s a “flower” and it’s an experiment for school. What can I do so that I can hide the plant elsewhere and still grow it, and produce a flower for her to be not suspicious as to why nothing is growing out of it? Any help would be great, please?

Is my potted anthurium dying?

Our dog knocked over my potted anthurium and now all but two of the leaves are gone. It seemed as if it was about to put out a flower/spathe/that coloured leafy looking part and now that part is all withered. I know very little about caring for such a plant but have been doing some reading up and following some basic rules, not too much water, no direct light but enough and so on. I’m really distressed as this plant was a gift and I really love it and want it to survive. Our dog also knocked out the wood chips so I’ve tried replacing them with dried mango leaves. I live in Jamaica and am surrounded by mango trees. But i don’t know what else to do and I don’t want it to die. Can someone please help me save it and give me some tips for its care in general. Thanks in advance.
What can I do at home by myself to help it. I don’t live near a nursery, the nearest one is at least 3 hrs away. the research I’ve done told me how often to water it, so I don’t think I erred there. It was doing fine until our dog knocked it over, putting out flowers and looking all bright and perky. I’m afraid to check the root as I don’t know how to repot it if I take it out. Maybe it needs more dirt, I’ve noticed that it seems a bit shallow, or maybe a bigger pot as it’s roots are as tall as the one it’s in now.

How can you make indoor daffodill bulbs grow at any time of year?

I have daffodill bulbs in an indoor plant pot. They just died after looking beautiful in my kitchen window. Do I have to wait a year for them to flower again or is there a way of tricking them into believing it is summer again?

What did i do wrong with my potatoe growing?

Hi there…decided to start to grow potatoes in my back yard…
i got a large pot about 24 inches high by 24 inches wide made loads of holes in the bottom and potted 6 or 7 potatoes that had eye on them(they grew eyes in my cupboard, over a period)
i covered them with soil and gave them a good watering…they started to grow stalks and as it says every where i popped more soil on…and watered again…eventualy after doing this a fair few times the stalks were about 2 mtrs tall (but with only 24 inches of soil covering the plant……i watered every so often, and waited for the first sign of flower…..dug them up…and was really excited to geet my crop…but out of the 7 potatoes, there was only 3 or 4 small pebble shaped potatoes growing, there were loads of baby shoots, but by this time too late to re plant…..
so did i let the potatoes grow eyes in my cupboard too much..
did i over water (the soil was wet when i dug for potatoes)
or
did i just have bad luck..!!
Michael
BTW
i grew them in multi purpose compost, i didnt feed them (apart from water)
I do have a very small patch of ground that i once planted a few potatoes and i got a good crop of 10/20 potatoes from, with out feeding, and regular watering..??

Michael
But i thought that once the flowers have come, then that is the potatoes ready for picking..
somebody told me that if you leave potatoes in the ground too long after the flower has shown then the potatoes will turn poison..!!

Does anyone know of a sunflower that grows a bud at every node? Is that weird?

I grew a bunch of sunflowers and two of them started growing multiple heads off of one stem. And it is not a flower that buds off of another stem….it grows directly out of the internodes. I just thought that was really weird and I couldn’t find it anywhere on the internet. Any help would be much appreciated, I am so so curious.

What might grow well in a shaded/very little sun area of florida?

I have an area next to my porch that right now is just sand. I need something that will grow well in a pot since it’s an apt and well in shade but it is still hot (florida summers). My basil isn’t doing too well maybe because it’s TOO hot but that’s only plant I have. I don’t care what kind of plant, herb, ornimental, flower doesn’t matter just easy to take care of and that will grow there. Any ideas? Thanks

What are the quickest and easiest plants to grow indoors?

I have developed a strong green itch in my fingers and I would like grow a few different (small) plants - preferably those which will flower. I don’t have a garden so they need to be grown in pots on my window sill. I have never grown anything before so they need to be fairly straightforward!
