Compost pile question?(20 characters)?

I want to plant a garden this coming Summer. The only side of the house where I can plant it doesn’t have the best soil. So I have started a compost pile. Right now I have it in an old flower pot. My question is, Should I put it in something that is covered and should I mix dirt in with it? I am putting coffee grounds, egg shells, and fruit and veggie peels. What else can I put in it?
Carlos, so you think you can get 2 points by being a jerk. Your answer will be deleted off of my question. Sorry, no 2 points for you.

Gardening help?

Okay, so my mom wanted to redo a little garden bed in our backyard. (it is just dirt we are going to add potting soil also) But my dad poured liquid wall texture all over the dirt. It had hardened and i was able to get the majority of it out of the bed, but there was still some little pieces left when i mixed the dirt. But what i need to know is if it will affect the plants growth, or kill them?!
Please help!

P.S. What plants are in season for Southern California, (fruits and veggies)

Is it ok to grow seeds in dirt you randomly collected from outside?

I have an indoor (for now), veggie garden. do I need to buy special dirt or can I just go outside, get some, and dump it in the pots? Is there bacteria in it thet would kill tomato seedlings?

What is the best way to make a pond/wheat grass planter out of an indoor planter I have?

The planter is about 9 X2 feet and about 2 feet deep. I want to form a small pond in the middle and grow the wheat grass around it but am worried about the pond leaking and the dirt/water putting too much weight on the built in planter. Can anyone advise me on the best way to prevent leakage and also give me the ability to remove the project in case of leakage.

Thank you very much
I know about liners but am really asking for the best layout for the project. Looking forward to more answers and I will be sure to star/ vot for the best answer.

Thank you

What should I expect from my artichoke plant?

I am new to gardening and I just planted my first plant. An artichoke plant. I dug up the soil very good and made it nice and soft then mixed in some miracle grow fertilizer for gardening into the dirt. I planted the plant in the ground as deep as i could get it. What should I expect from here? Do I just water it and let it grow? it was not a seed it was an actual 1 foot plant in a pot I bought from Home Depot. It says 120 days till it buds. i wil be planting more veggies next weekend when I have time

Will standing water ruin my cement?

We made a garden and pathway where one side of the garden is a pathway and the other side is crubing - they hold the dirt in, and water. The landscaper never put in any drainage, and the water just sits there sometimes forever. The cement has started coming up - like sandpaperish almost - slowly deteriorating, like little sand pieces flaking off. So it starting to look bad. It’s been in for just over a year now, and there is a line of corrosion around the planter on the cement side. Was this bad concrete to start with? Or is the fact that there is no drainage causing this to happen? See, I thought that concrete would last forever, at least longer that a year! As for paying the guy - who knew that there was supposed to be flowers in there, should he have put drainage there? Also, I dug that area down, and put newspaper and cardboard over it, some gypsum, and then layed down the fresh planting soil and flowers. What’s your conclussion on the problem? Thanks so much!

Venus flytrap care and advice?

My boyfriend bought me a venus flytrap from Lowes, which is really cute <3. Anyway, im not sure what to do with it! So far i've read online that i have to water it using distilled water or rain water, not tap. which is fine we buy it all the time for other stuff anyway. And i also read that im not supposed to feed it anything other than live bugs, But is there anything else i need to know?

It came in a little plastic case. Which i think im supposed to keep it in right? am i supposed to keep the lid on it? if so how does it catch bugs? Also, theres a thin piece of plastic in there, on top of the pot, between the dirt and the traps, i think its just to help it from being shaken during shipping. I don't know if i should leave that in there or take it out, it looks like theres some leaves under it? How often should i water it? I've read a lot of different things online, some say that it can sit in water, and some say to just water it every day? Also how much sun does it need? should it be kept in a window? or just in a room with an open window? somethings online say to keep it in the bathroom but we don't have a window in out bathroom.
