I am new to gardening and I think I let my basil plant get dehydrated, and then watered incorrectly. Now, all the leaves wilted and the stems started turning brown and woody. I pinched off the dehydrated leaves and moved it from a glazed pot to a clay pot. The stems are sticking up about 12 inches from the top of the soil, but they don’t have any leaves. Is my plant a goner or is there anything I can do? Should I cut the stems down more? Also, should I feed or fertilize? Does it want a lot of sunlight? Thank you!

Basically, it was covered in spray glitter, had ornaments hanging off of it, and it looked so depressed.
It also had a decorative paper stuff wrapped around the pot, so it couldn’t drain excess water.
Well, we have taken care of all that, removed the decor, re potted it, as the pot was OBVIOUSLY too small, and now it is thriving.
Basically I want to know if anyone has ever had any experience with these plants. I am terrible with plants, I cant even keep a fake plant alive - slight exaggeration.
We live in an apartment, up on the 4th floor, so I am wondering if it is still too cold outside. Its -9 C today.
Thanks in advance.

I have a store-bought macrophylla hydrangea (which I love!) and most of the blooms have died as summer is winding down. I’ve read that I am supposed to deadhead the spent blooms, but I’m not sure where exactly to cut. If I cut under a pair or two of leaves below the flowering part, won’t I be left with a bunch of cut stems on my plant? Will they ever grow from those stems again or should I just cut the stems completely from the bottom? But then I wouldn’t be left with much of a plant at all! There are a few new stems that haven’t flowered yet this year but still, that isn’t much if that’s all that’s left. I am new to growing hydrangeas and would appreciate any help anyone has to offer. Thanks!

My 16 yr. old b/f and I have been together for about 7 months. He suffers from depression and bipolar and has times when he goes thru “dark times” and shuts me out. He doesn’t really talk to me and I understand that it is normal for someone who is depressed to do that. These “dark times” happen quite often…like a couple times per month and last for a week or so…maybe longer. However, I feel like if he doesn’t need me when he’s down then he probably doesn’t need me in his life when he’s not. I honestly don’t know what my purpose is in the relationship if every other week this is happening. He doesn’t take medication for these problems because he doesn’t like the side effects but has told me that he has wanted to try illegal drugs to help him cope (pot and opiates). He sees a therapist once a week but i don’t think he is very open during his sessions. He is very anti-social and has thoughts of *******. As I said, I don’t know what my purpose is. I am 15 and don’t have the skills to know what to do and what’s worse is this is a long distance relationship so all of our communication is thru a computer or phone. I want to help him but I feel like he isn’t ready to be helped and I just sit here waiting for him to be over one of his “dark times” until the next one comes around. In the mean time I feel useless. Is it safe to leave and trust that he will be OK? I feel horrible to leave and horrible to stay. It’s a no-win all the way around. Please help me? Thanks!

My grass now is half dead, and it’s not soft. Is it possible to grow softer grass from seed?

Ok not just any person it’s my mom

I’ve noticed over the many years that she has practically made our home into an art gallery. Meaning, she would cover the “empty spaces” on the walls with paintings. What I mean by empty spaces are every single column she finds (there are probably over 10 in this house), EVERY space between windows and any empy, large surface on a wall, even if it means placing 10 frames on it. I mean EVERY space she wants to cover.
She finds something that looks empty and fills it with something…our stairs have pots on the sides…before we know it, we won’t be able to go upstairs. Airconditioning is covered with tall furniture.I’ve grown to think she’s unsatisfied with life in general, I mean, I do witness it cos I live with her and it shows in some of her mannerisms and decisions. But can an expert here tell me what this might be all about?
(this sounds “mild”, but if you were here, you’d know what I mean).
and no, she doesn’t just “like art”. I’m talking abt the manner in which she assigns objects to. Mainly, she just likes to cover things for some reason….
