Do you think smoking marijuana is a sin?
November 23rd, 2009 Posted by: admin
I am a christian and I love God with all my heart and soul, but I do smoke marijuana. I like it because it mellows me out when I’m stressed, makes me happy when I’m sad and sometimes stops cramps. So whats wrong with smoking weed. I know that your body is a temple for the holy spirit, but its grown from the earth God made this. Its from the earth. So what’s wrong with it.

I don’t think it is a sin, but it’s against the law in America. I’ve never done it and never will, though.
November 24th, 2009 at 08:33
i dont think its a sin……….but it is bad
November 25th, 2009 at 15:55
Yes. It influences your freewill and damages your temple. Peace.

Marijuana is probably the best natural substance in the world. Its good for people to smoke when they need to relax. So f what everyone thinks and puff away. I know I will.
Rock on.

It is not a sin!
It makes for happier times and might even bring world peace!

There’s nothing wrong wid it, JEsus looked like he was a stoner too. Just enjoy life, don’t worry about stupid **** like sins and going to heaven, it dont really work like that.
December 7th, 2009 at 15:52
Weed is God’s proof that he loves us and wants us to be happy.
December 10th, 2009 at 18:43
there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, as a matter of fact it was made for you and me.
December 12th, 2009 at 11:55
No, I don’t. It is less harmful than cigarettes. Is cigarette-smoking a sin? Where in the Bible (or whatever book of inspiration you prefer) where does it say thou shalt not smoke?
December 12th, 2009 at 17:23
who cares? i got christian friends who smoke weed and they repent everytime they sin. yes it’s a sin and an easy way to kill ur brain cells
December 15th, 2009 at 01:10
Of course not. It’s a plant. God put the plant on earth for a reason. I dont know what that is but its a natural growing thing. I would say no
December 17th, 2009 at 21:31
No its not a sin just illegal
December 18th, 2009 at 17:34
god gave that plant to help humans. people are just too stupid to see this. too much of anything (like smoke) can be harmful, though. enjoy! and can’t you just ask for forgivness on your death bed and it will be ok?
December 21st, 2009 at 02:33
it not god that made it elleagal to have it was the gov.your right god made it and he knows you smoke it so what are you afraid of go to hell.
December 23rd, 2009 at 15:46
It is a sin and it is also very, very stupid ! The ( reasons ? ) you gave for smoking are just ways fo rationalizing a very bad habit. You are addicted and trying to justify your addiction. Please consider what you are really doing to your body and mind. Be honest with yourself.
You can get free help at Narcotics Anonomoyous. It is a spiritual program and there you will find many peoiple that will help you. It is my hope that one day your mind and body is once more clean.
December 26th, 2009 at 09:01
yeah… i think so… i think it said somewhere in the bible…. im not sure where though.
December 29th, 2009 at 07:26
Anything that keeps you from God is sin. I feel that Satan has a hold on your judgment about the situation.
What’s the difference between saying you smoke pot to stop cramps and skipping church because your too tired?
I once was a pothead and I know the classic excuses because I used them for years. Ask God for guidance because I believe if you need to ask this question in the first place, you know your doing some wrong.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:03
everything is wrong with u doing this. if ur a christian u would not be smoking weed. just because it grow on this earth does not mean u use it in the wrong way. weed is used for other things and is not allowed to use to mellow u out when in stress. i know alot of people who do this and are no where near knowing who Jesus is or attend church. i think u should pray and ask God to help u get rid of this habit because God is the one to go to for help in time of stress.

No, you can smoke maijuana or cigarettes and still go to heaven, you’ll just get there a little faster than the rest of us. lol.

I feel confidently Christian enough to say that I don’t believe God thinks that smoking marijuana is a sin. It gets back to that age-old question of how much do you smoke and how does it interfere with a healthy, Godly, daily life. If it doesn’t then I think you are sinning no more than I am as I sit here answering your question and eating some spaghetti my wife made accompanied by a wonderful glass of Chenin Blanc white wine. Smoking marijuana may be against American law, but then, as long as the ACLU exists, I can’t see how “Christian” we can claim our country is or will be. God Bless you.

Well jesus drank alcohol and alcohol is more dangerous and addicting and kills more people and destroys more families than cannibis, so I’d say that Jesus would probably be fine with it.
January 8th, 2010 at 18:40
well it’ the thing weed mite make you do that a sin.
January 10th, 2010 at 07:41
No, its not a sin. Sin is a hard to diffine word depinding on your personal clasifications of sins. You may think it is wrong to smoke Marijuana, but if its a sin in your heart then its a sin. It may not be a sin for other people. Sins are self judgements of yourself. What ever someone else says is a sin, may not be a sin to you.

If we are Christian we are the temple of the Holy Ghost.
1Cr 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
January 15th, 2010 at 06:47
nope i dont think its a sin. i think i should be legal to. i mean if ppl were geting high instead of trying to get rich and take over other countries this world would be a bada$$ place. if all the presidents and kings ever had been ubber stoners then we wouldnt have all this bloody history. it would all be like Kennedy and Krushev agreed to stop the nuclear arms race over a huge bong hit followed by the smoking of a super fattie and a high that lasted all day
January 16th, 2010 at 14:39
There is nothing wrong with it and I don’t think its a sin…its a plant from the earth nothing sinful about it.
January 16th, 2010 at 21:58
I don’t believe it’s a sin. In fact, it’s nice to know that there’s someone who has similar views as I do. I’m sure you’ll get many answers from Christians who don’t share your opinions however. This is a very good question and I’m looking forward to reading some very interesting answers!
January 20th, 2010 at 07:03
Well, as you know, the Bible states that you should conserve your body, its a temple for the holy spirit- 19Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
Plus it may interfere with your consciousness and thus make you do things you usually wouldn’t do. Your more open to sinning, you’re making a hole for an oppertunity to sin, as your mind would be in a weaker state. But then, recent studies have shown Marijuana may help cure some diseases and stuff. I wouldn’t do it, in case i’d do something stupid… but thats just me.
January 22nd, 2010 at 07:14
in christianity there is no sins but if u r realy christian u will not smoke agine
January 23rd, 2010 at 14:40
I think is as bad as drinking alcohol.
but I think the dangerous thing is your reasoning.
Anyway Cain killed Abel with a donkey jaw, so good created donkeys to the only purpose that their jaw would be used as a weapon to killing your bros?
Anyway law says you shall not and that stands in earth
January 26th, 2010 at 12:07
you’re truly screwed up aren’t you,you want your cake and eat it,……….oh what a hypocrite.
January 27th, 2010 at 15:48
The problem lies with the usage. Paul told Timothy to drink wine to help with his stomach problems, but he would not buy a bottle for a raging alcoholic, ya know? On the surface there is a problem because it’s illegal, and the Bible says in Romans 14:1 we should be subject to the authorities we’re living under. This doesn’t mean it’s not beneficial, though. True, God made it, and I am under the belief that it has definite benefits over man-made drugs which are known for side-effects. What it all boils down to is, you admitted that it helps you relax, and makes you happy. This is indeed able to lead to a dependancy. As believers in Jesus, we should find our rest and also our happiness in Christ. Please don’t think I’m preaching to you, cuz I’ve smoked after my conversion as wel, and I’ve always felt convicted about the fact that I wasn’t living above reproach, ya know? If I may ask you a question: If your best friend, parent or child was unsaved, would you be willing to still smoke it in front of them, knowing that you are an ambassador of Christ?

“Yee who smokes dat **** will give Him a thousand BJ’s”
- Scripture 37 para 4 sentence 3

Smoking Weed turns people into dumb, fumbling idiots who cant complete a sentence. No offense, but marijauna is a drug. Yes, you love the Lord, and the Lord loves you, and He wants you to love yourself–so dont pollute your body with that retarded drug. That whole “comes from the earth” excuse is just that–and excuse. Cocaine and heroin both come from plants–are you gonna smoke that?..Life is hard and join the club, but drugs arent the answer. Peace.

Hun god put marijuana on this planet for a reason! for our use it even sais in the bible something along the lines of “I give to you every plant animal and thing on this planet” That includes pot! Gods not going to **** you for that. He gave it to us for our own betterment. Its not as bad as everyone thinks. Heres an essay off my webpage you might like:
There was a movie in the 1950’s called reefer maddness. It greatly overexagerated the effects of marijuana. Unfortunatly this helped shape americas views on the plant, and long lasting impressions stuck. Its a shame. Heres an essay I took off my website i thought you might enjoy:
marijuana is the most commonly uses illegal substance in the United States. it is used by many people, most of which aren’t your stereotypical “druggie”, with no life agead of them. Many of them hapen to be very successful, good people. Think about it almost if not every person who reads this paper will know (even if they don’t realize it) at least one if not several regular users of marijuana. Its often made out to be much more harmful htan it really is, unfortunatly not every one realizes this.
What many people don’t realize is marijuana is much less harmful than alcohol or tobacco. Yet it’s the one of the three that gets a bad rap and is illegal. Marijuana isn’t even physicaly addicting. You certanly don’t see meetings for marijuana like you do with alcohol and AA. Unfortunatly due to American culture the less harmful of the three is illegal.
The most common reason why marijuana can be harmful is that people can often come across laced marijuana without realizing it. Marijuana can easily be mixed with other more harmful drugs with out the buyer realizing it, until they have already used it. This is a dangerous thing that causes many people to do more harmful, hard core drugs without realizing it. If it were to be legalized the government could provide guide lines, like it does with alchol to insure that people knew what they were putting into their bodies.
Marijuana actually has many helpful benefits toward diseases / sicknesses. Marijuana can reduce nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite caused by AIDS. It can Reduce interlobular pressure, which alleviates the pain and slowing and sometimes even stopping the progress of glaucoma. Common side effects of chemotherapy are nausea, loss of appetite, and vomiting, all of which marijuana would help. It can limit muscle pain and relieve tremor nad unsteadiness of gait for multiple sclerosis patients. Marijuana can help prevent epileptic seizures in some patients. It can also alleviate chronic, often debilitating pain caused by myriad disorders and injuries. Each one of these applications have been deemed legitimate by at least one United States court, legislature, and/or government agency.
Due to these reasons and many others many people are going to jail/prison on a daily basis due to simply smoking a little pot These aren’t dangerous criminals that would kill or **** someone. Many of them are teachers, lawyers and respected members of their communities. But yet we still pay thousands of dollars of tax payers money to lock up non dangerous “criminals” yearly even though most aren’t going to stop after they get out of jail. Don’t you think the money spent here is a waste? Couldn’t it be going to more useful things such as hospitals, disease research, or better schools? These are the things that would benifit the people of this country. Certanily you would rather benefit the people more than throwing a non violent pot head in jail who was only trying to smoke a joint and relax after a long days work in jail. There is up to forty million regular (note thats just the regular not occasional users) drug users in the United states. If we were to throw all of them in jail it would cost $500,000 per million people, plus the cost and space of building many more prisons. Couldm’t that money be spent on building hospitals? There’s already about 1.5 million people tax payers are paying to keep in jail over drugs. From 1990 to 2003, nearly 5.9 million people had been arrested for smoking marijuana. Thats a greater number than the entire population of Alaska, Delaware, The District of Columbia, Montania, North and South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming combined. This country simply can’t afford to put 40 million more in jail.
Marijuana should be legalized. It has many uses such as helping sick patients. People are going to smoke it no matter what the government sais, and with out govenment guidelines this can be dangerous. Not to mention the fact that we have no way we can afford to throw all those people in jail. Its much less harmful than alcohol and tobacco, which are legal, so doesn’t it make sense that it would be also?
If all this is true why would god not want us to have it??? Thats the govenment that thinks that way not god. God bless you and good luck.
