PTFE is a type of plastic or synthetic polymer known as polytetrafluoroethylene or tetrafluoroethylene resin. PTFE coatings are sold under the trade names Teflon, Silverstone, Fluoron, Supra, Excalibar, Greblon, Xylon, and others. PTFE may be found in: heat lamps, self cleaning ovens, crock pots, nonstick pans etc., and is known to KILL pet birds when heated.

Yes, overheated PTFE will kill birds. But the crockpots I have at home don’t have PTFE. I’ve never seen one that does (though perhaps one exists). It’s on pans, not crockpots. They’re not on self-cleaning ovens, either (see), and I can’t imagine why anyone would put a non-stick coating on a heat lamp.

I have a crock pot & it doesn’t have PTFE in it. Some crock pots have been said to contain PTFE but I don’t know which ones.
the easiest thing to do would be to go into the manufacturers website & find out if their products are PTFE free, usually those that are usually state it.
