i found a one inch caterpillar in an unshucked ear of corn i bought from my supermarket. i put it in a plastic container with some damp potting soil a lettuce leaf, brocolli steams and some of the corn i found it in. i want to let it go, but it is very small and i dont know where the corn came from so i dont know how it will take to a new surrounding. is this okay? what should i do? i dont want to let it go and have it die!

let it go bc it will probably die anyways with you having it as a pet. if you have any bushes or flowers/plants around your property put him in there, hell be fine

You need to get a nice cage..with breathing wholes!! get some grass…little leaves…and have a little tiny cup of water. for the cup if i were you I would take a plastic cup and cut the very end off…or even a water bottle cap would work! anything small!! then just try to find lilke little bugs that he could eat..like ants!
